Former Illini Adam Miller enters the transfer portal
The former Illini has spent two seasons at both LSU and Arizona State since transferring from the program.
Per League Ready, former Illini basketball guard Adam Miller has entered the transfer portal. Miller played one season with Illinois and started 29 of 31 games on a team that was a one-seed in the NCAA tournament. He showed flashes of incredible potential and averaged 8.3 points per game. However, Miller surprisingly transferred and initially chose to play at LSU. Since that moment, Miller has faced challenges with injury. He tore his ACL before the 2021-2022 season and has struggled to find the form that made him such an intriguing freshman. Adam Miller played one season at LSU before ultimately transferring to Arizona State for two seasons.
Now, Miller is available once again, and tweets have already been fired out that there is smoke of a reunion between Illinois and Miller. Basketball insider, Trilly Donovan hinted at the reunion below.

The Fit?
Since tearing his ACL, Miller has seemed to plateau in his game. However, that may be attributed to the fact that he has played on pretty subpar teams. In the two seasons that Adam Miller has played at Arizona State, the team has gone 27-38 overall and 12-28 in conference play. His one season at LSU was a losing season on top of that. Contrast that to an Illinois team that Miller started with that won the Big Ten Tournament and was a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament. With one season left, Miller could actually fill in a role on this team as a floor-spacer and off-ball handler alongside Kylan Boswell. He will be a sixth-year guy who brings a lot of experience.
He may not have the on-ball, feature role that he yearned for when he left Champaign initially, however, Miller will likely want to be on a winning team. Illinois can provide that and Miller makes this team better. Miller is familiar with what Brad Underwood wants and shot 42.9 percent from the three-point line last year at Arizona State.
