Hill will always be remembered for his impressive scoring on rather limited rosters in the John Groce era. After stints in the G-league and short runs with NBA squads, Hill has evolved his game in a major way.
From an iso-scorer to a three-and-d wing
Malcolm Hill had to play a lot of isolation ball during his time at Illinois. In fact, he had to play everywhere from the point guard position to the power-forward spot. While in the NBA, Hill has notably become an incredibly reliable catch-and-shoot player. During the 2023-2024 season, Malcolm shot an impressive 41.9 percent from three for the Birmingham Squadron. The New Orleans Pelicans are trying to fill their roster with three-and-d guys alongside Zion Williamson. With one of their key players in Trey Murphy III out for some time, look for Malcolm Hill to continue to get some clock during the 2024 NBA preseason.
