Illini forward Will Riley Receives NBA Green room invite
The young Illini will both represent the University at the 2025 NBA draft green room.

Per sources on social media, Illini forward Will Riley has received an invite to the 2025 NBA Draft Green room. The draft will take place on June 25th in Brooklyn, New York, at the Barclays Center. Riley will join fellow Illini, Kasparas Jakucionis, in the green room. Typically, a green room invite correlates to a high likelihood that the player will be selected in the lottery. As it stands right now, Jakucionis is seen in the top 15 picks of practically every single mock draft.
Riley’s draft stock is a little more variable, as some have him as high as the 14th overall pick, to the 24th overall pick per NBAdraft.net.
Riley has an NBA-level skillset
Will Riley averaged 12.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists during his freshman campaign with the Illini. He is still just 19 years old and holds extremely high upside given his length, skill, and feel. Will has shown the ability to be an effortless three-level scorer. He has the ability to play both on and off the ball and has great playmaking skills for his size. Long-term, he projects as a solid wing-scorer with starting potential. If he can fill out his frame and develop a consistent three-point shot, Riley has loads of potential.
Riley and Jakucionis are two exciting 19-year-old prospects who should carry the Illinois flag in the NBA for many years. This invitation to the green room is just the beginning of what will be a long, productive professional career for both players.
