Illinois Football: Where to Watch Season Opener vs Eastern Illinois

Illinois Football’s season opens with a home game next Thursday, August 29th vs the Eastern Illinois Panthers at Memorial Stadium.
WHERE to watch: The game will be on BTN at 8 pm Central Standard Time for those watching on TV.
Though we are used to Saturday morning football opening up the Illini season, the 8 pm start serves as an interesting opportunity for fans to meet up after work or classes. With students officially back on campus, I am certainly hopeful that the Illini student body find a way to make the home game amidst their first week of classes.
The Spreads
According to Oddsshark, the spread for Illinois football is currently at -27.5. For Bret Bielema and his crew, the task is extremely simple. Welcome the modest crowd that will come to watch at Memorial Stadium, and beat the brakes off of Eastern Illinois. In week two, the Illini will take on a far more difficult task. A repeat showdown at home vs the Kansas Jayhawks.
Preparing for the Main Event.
Years ago, Virginia beat the snot out of Illinois football and caused a major shift in game planning. A year later, the Illini competently beat the Virginia Cavaliers at Memorial Stadium. While the two situations are vastly different, Illinois football can hopefully repeat that scenario vs Lance Leipold’s Jayhawks.
