Illinois Basketball News: Andrej Stojakovic Nearing Return
A very positive health update for Illinois Basketball on their star player.
Breaking News: According to CBS Sports analyst and College Basketball insider Jon Rothstein, Illinois Basketball sophomore Andrej Stojakovic is expected to be fully cleared for basketball-related activities and back on the court within the next couple of weeks, prior to tipping off the 2025-26 season. Certainly, this is great news for the Illini’s talented scorer, who suffered a knee sprain back in late August-early September.
The former McDonald’s All-American will undoubtedly be a major addition to Brad Underwood’s arsenal, as the Cal transfer comes into Champaign hot off a First-Team ACC season in 2024-25, totaling 523 points, 23 steals, 38 blocks, and 79 assists for the Golden Bears. Like many, I would expect Andrej to be the leading force of this 2025-26 team, and a focal point of Brad Underwood.
Now, all eyes are on junior forward Ty Rodgers, who suffered a significant knee injury back in early June.
Illinois’ Andrej Stojakovic (knee) is expected to be back on the court and fully cleared for all basketball-related activities in a few weeks, per Brad Underwood.
Transfer from Cal who averaged 17.9 PPG and 4.7 RPG last season.
