Illinois basketball offers class of 2027 five-star guard Nasir Anderson
The Illini currently have two commits in their class of 2027 and are looking to build on it.
Illinois basketball has extended an offer to Class of 2027 point guard Nasir Anderson. Anderson is a 6-foot-3 point guard from Savannah, Georgia. Currently, he is ranked No. 7 in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite. He is the No. 1 point guard in the class and is rated as a five-star prospect.
Weighing 205 pounds, Anderson, a physical left-handed guard, consistently uses his strength to get to the rim.. Anderson would give Illinois basketball its highest-ranked recruit in program history.
The Georgia native attends Prolific Prep, the same high school that former Illini standout Coleman Hawkins attended. Prolific Prep relocated to Fort Lauderdale this season to improve access to elite talent and allow for easier travel.
Recently, Anderson was also a member of the 2025 USA Men’s U16 National Team that won the gold medal at the U16 AmeriCup. He earned tournament MVP honors and was named to the All-Star Five after averaging 12.3 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.5 steals over six games. He also broke the USA record for total assists in the tournament.
The Prolific Prep star currently holds offers from Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, NC State, Georgia, and Illinois.
If Anderson chooses the Illini, he would join current commits Quinton Kitt and Mason Martin in the class.
