Illinois basketball will head to East Lansing to play Michigan State in the Breslin Center on February 7th. The game tips off at 7 pm CST/8 pm EST on FOX. The Illini are ready for the challenge, given that they have spent the past two weekends in hostile road environments. Two weeks ago, they travelled to Mackey Arena to play Purdue. Last weekend, they traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska, to take on Nebraska.

The Michigan State Spartans are certainly a different kind of challenge than Purdue and Nebraska. CBS Sports Eye on College Basketball podcast, hosted by Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander, made their picks heading into a major Big Ten Showdown.

That means since the past 46 days, the Illini are the top team. Amidst a 12-game winning streak, including 11 Big Ten games, Illinois is playing at an elite level. Not only do they have the best offense per KenPom and most other major analytics sites, but they also currently own a defense within the top-25

Ultimately, Gary Parrish picked Illinois basketball to beat the Michigan State Spartans. Matt Norlander, on the other hand, went with Michigan State. With the Big Ten title race growing closer than ever, and with Tom Izzo and Michigan State desperate for a win, we will see who comes out on top Saturday night in East Lansing.
