2026 top guard Lucas Morillo signs with Illinois Basketball
The Illini are signing one of the most intriguing prospects in the class of 2026 in Lucas Morillo
Lucas Morillo, a top guard in the class of 2026, has officially signed with Illinois basketball per release. Per 247sports, Morillo is the 55th overall prospect who chose the Illini over the likes of UCLA, Texas, Virginia, and Minnesota. He is the highest ranked prospect in the Illini’s class of 2026, a class that contains combo guard Ethan Brown and stretch forward Landon Davis. Lucas Morillo is an intriguing prospect at 6 feet 7 inches. He possesses all the traits that Brad Underwood and the Illini covet. Morillo has strong positional size and is an extremely creative playmaker with great basketball IQ.
As reported by 247sports’ Adam Finkelstein, Lucas Morillo averaged 16 ppg, 9 rpg, and 3 assists during the Summer EYBL session with the New York Gauchos.
