Illinois Football Announces Week 3 Sellout vs Western Michigan
Memorial Stadium will be at FULL capacity when WMU comes to town on 9/13.
Illinois Football has announced that its week 3 matchup against Western Michigan on Friday, September 13th, is officially SOLD OUT. This marks the second announced sellout of the season, following last week’s news that the Illini’s October 11th matchup with the reigning national champion Ohio State Buckeyes is also officially at full capacity.
For a program on the rise like the 12th-ranked Illini, it seems likely there will be several more to come, with marquee games like Homecoming against USC (9/27) already being reported as low on available tickets.
The Illini return home to Memorial Stadium following a key week 2 road trip to Durham, North Carolina, where they face Manny Diaz and the Duke Blue Devils in a matchup that could carry early-season College Football Playoff implications, depending on how the rest of 2025 shakes out. Coming off that road test, Illinois has a prime opportunity to deliver another big win in front of a packed house in Champaign, and if the Illini are 2-0 heading into week 3, the environment should be electric at Memorial Stadium.
Bret Bielema’s crew will take on the Broncos under the lights at 6:00 p.m. CT on Fox Sports 1.
