News: Illinois Football Sold Out vs USC
Illinois Football has sold out thier 3rd game of the 2025 season
News: Illinois Football has sold out their 3rd home game of the 2025 season. The program announced on Thursday (9/4) that its upcoming Homecoming matchup with USC on September 27 is now officially at capacity, joining Western Michigan (Sept. 13) and Ohio State (Oct. 11) as the other two sellouts thus far. This makes the first time Illinois has strung together three sellouts in over a decade (2008), dating back to the Ron Zook era, following the Fighting Illini’s 2008 Rose Bowl season.
Additionally, all season tickets, including student sections, suites, and club tickets, are sold out—marking the first full season-ticket sellout in at least 20 years.
Undoubtedly, a fantastic measurement of just how far this program has come under Bret Bielema’s leadership. Memorial Stadium seats just over 61,000 fans, and from 2017 to 2022, Illinois averaged between 35,000 and 39,000 per game—leaving half the stadium (or more) empty. Fast forward to 2025, and sellouts have become a new trend for the Illini. Certainly, a reflection of both on-field success and a rejuvenated, fired-up fan base that has re-embraced Illinois Football.
Although tickets continue to become increasingly scarce, fans still have opportunities to see the Illini in Champaign. Single-game tickets do still remain for Rutgers on Nov. 1 (Dad’s Day), as well as Maryland on Nov. 15 (Military Appreciation), and the Land of Lincoln Trophy/Senior Day showdown versus Northwestern on Nov. 29 to close out the 2025 regular season.
