NEWS: Illinois vs USC to be Featured on Fox Big Noon Kickoff
The Illini continue to gain national attention as their homecoming game vs USC will now be a feature event.
NEWS: Illinois football will play the USC Trojans for a home game on September 27th. The Illini have planned for that game to be their annual homecoming game as they host the currently 25th-ranked Trojans. Given the Illini’s second straight week in the top-10 of the AP Poll, Fox has chosen Champaign, Illinois, as their destination for the Big Noon Kickoff. That’s right, Rob Stone, Matt Leinart, Mark Ingram II, Dave Portnoy, and more will be in Champaign. Illinois football fans were certainly hopeful that their marquee matchup with the Indiana Hoosiers would have been featured on ESPN College Gameday. However, this is still quite a fun event and should draw more buzz to Bret Bielema’s program. The game starts at 11 am CST; however, Big Noon Kickoff starts at 10 am.
Certainly, players like Luke Altmyer, Gabe Jacas, and Xavier Scott will get a spotlight. Also, I am sure that Illinois basketball coach Brad Underwood will be featured on the show. Underwood’s program has also returned to the national spotlight after multiple straight years at the top of the Big Ten conference. What a time to be an Illini
