Watch: Luke Altmyer catches first TD pass on trick play vs USC
Hank Beatty and Luke Altmyer linked up for another touchdown… but not as one would usually expect.
Illinois QB Luke Altmyer was part of two touchdowns during the first half of the game vs USC. First off, do not mention the events that happened at the end of the half. Let’s focus on the good. Illinois looked like a different team than it did last week. Luke Altmyer struck first with a nice rushing touchdown. Later on, the Illini put on a monster drive down the field and capped it off with a Philly Special. Luke Altmyer handed the ball off to wide receiver Collin Dixon, who handed the ball off to Hank Beatty. Now remember, Beatty was a former high school quarterback and scored a TD vs Duke in the Wildcat formation.
This time, Beatty was the one throwing the ball, and he put a dime up for Luke Altmyer to catch. Certainly, it was an incredible play and memory for Illini fans to witness. Let’s hope that the Illini can continue their strong play to take the victory over the Trojans.
