2027 In-state forward Quinton Kitt commits to Illinois Basketball
The Illini are slowly getting back into the prep recruiting game and landed a big fish in their own state.
Quinton Kitt, a four-star forward in the class of 2027, has announced his verbal commitment to the Illinois basketball program! It was certainly a nice Thanksgiving treat for Illini fans as Kitt announced his commitment over social media. Kitt is a 6-foot-6 forward out of East Peoria, Illinois. He committed to the Illini over interest from Big Ten programs such as Iowa and Ohio State. Right now, Quinton Kitt is ranked as the 114th overall prospect and the 2nd best prospect in the state of Illinois per 247sports. Per other sources, Kitt was also receiving interest from teams like Michigan, Butler, and a few other high-major programs. He has great size and versatility at 6 feet 6 and a 6-foot-10-inch wingspan. Quinton Kitt has perfect positional size to contribute to the Illini at multiple positions.
In recent history, Illinois has prioritized the transfer portal and European prospects. However, Brad Underwood is slowly starting to re-prioritize prep recruiting. Currently, freshman Keaton Wagler and Brandon Lee are recent examples of prep prospects who have quite a significant role for the Illini right off the bat. It is really nice to see Illinois get back into its own state and land one of the top prospects. Quinton Kitt also trains with Peoria basketball coach/trainer David Williams, who worked with former Illini Da’Monte Williams and Adam Miller.
Congratulations to Quinton and his family for committing to the Illini!
