Pat Bryant goes nuclear for Illinois Football over Rutgers
The Illini have another pro wide receiver on their team in Pat Bryant.
Hope looked lost for Illinois football today. After sleepwalking through the first half and giving up an easy touchdown after finally gaining the lead, all of Illini fans looked ready to phone it in. On top of that, penalties continued to push them back. The Illini looked dead in the water as they set up to kick a 57-yard field goal into the wind. The Illini kicker missed it by a mile, however, the Rutgers head coach called a timeout to give the Illini one last look at life. Enter their team leader and captain, Pat Bryant. Essentially, the Illini got a test-kick and with the way that kick went, they knew that they had to go for it.
The next play was just a microcosm of what Pat Bryant did to will this team to victory.

Pat Bryant: 7 receptions, 197 yards and one massive touchdown
Bryant nearly had 200 yards today and basically willed his team to victory. His last catch with 14 seconds left featured approximately 23 yards after the catch to get the score needed to win the game. To top it all off, Bryant’s 28.1 yards per catch were absolutely vital. Instead of filling into the narrative that Illinois football falls apart in November, the Illini will now play for 9 wins against Northwestern. After this season, there is absolutely zero doubt that Pat Bryant is an NFL wide receiver.
