Former Illinois Basketball Legend Praises Terrence Shannon Jr

Terrence Shannon Jr received some hefty praise today. Overall, Shannon Jr continues to impress all viewers with his prowess in the fastbreak.  Dee Brown is a former Illinois basketball legend who is known as one of the best and most exciting Illinois Basketball players of all time. Brown loves the University of Illinois and is trying to make his way in the coaching world at Roosevelt University. He keeps tabs on his alma mater and had some praise for the current Illinois Basketball star.

Terrence Shannon, Ayo Dosunmu and Dee Brown on the break?

Dee Brown was a key member of the best Illinois Basketball team of all time. Though Deron Williams receives a lot of praise for being the NBA All-Star who helped bring Illinois back, Brown was just as impressive a recruit and player. Dee Brown was notorious for finding the open man on the break with his impressive burst and court vision.

In honor of Ayo Dosunmu's jersey heading up to the rafters tonight, I wanted to share my favorite Ayo moment.

Ayo Dosunmu and Terrence Shannon Jr are two very similar stars. They are Chicago natives who are the alphas of a rising Illinois Basketball squad. Dosunmu was an elite ball player who made his name off of his clutch shots and blazing speed in the open court. Terrence Shannon Jr is a little bit of a different kind of transition beast. He is an absolute missile. Shannon Jr is close to 30 pounds heavier than Dosunmu so he is more of a freight train compared to Dosunmu’s sports car.  So far, Terrence has shown the elite leadership and work ethic that made Ayo Dosunmu so successful at Illinois. If the season becomes as successful as Dosunmu’s senior year, there have to be discussions about Terrence Shannon Jr being one of the all-time Illini greats.
