Former Illinois Football Wideout Headed to the MAC
Former Illinois Football wide receiver Eian Pugh announced on X that he has chosen his next destination. The Illini transfer made it public Monday morning that he will be headed to the Mid-America Conference to play for Ohio University. Certainly, Pugh hopes to secure a starting position with the Bobcats. Previously, Pugh was a 3-star athlete from the Chicagoland area, who was a really solid in-state win for Illinois at the time. However, the road to playing time with the Illini was not a fit for Eian. Pugh announced on April 12th that he intended to enter his name into the transfer portal.

Eian Pugh Breakdown
Pugh was a recruit that the Illini staff and fanbase were really high on coming out of high school. The lengthy, athletic freshman was a big playmaker for Fenwick High School in Chicago. Standing in at 6’3 and 180lbs, Eian certainly has the measurables, and the potential talent to be a big playmaker at this level. However, the native of Naperville Illinois did not play a single game for the Illini in 2023. Halfway into spring football, Eian decided to enter his name into the Portal. Of course, in hopes finding roster that needed more bodies in the receiving core. Lucky for Eian, he may have found the spot.
