How Keaton Wagler measured at the 2026 NBA Draft Combine
Wagler will go through drills on Tuesday May 12th.
Keaton Wagler has spent his entire basketball life being underestimated.
He was the No. 261 overall recruit in his high school class, largely overlooked by national evaluators and far from the type of prospect expected to become a one-and-done lottery pick. Then he arrived at Illinois, became the engine behind a Final Four run, and turned himself into one of college basketball’s most efficient offensive creators.
Now, there’s no overlooking him.
Wagler officially measured 6-foot-5 barefoot and 188 pounds at the NBA Draft Combine, with a 6-foot-6.25 wingspan and 8-foot-4 standing reach — numbers that provide more clarity as he locks himself in as a likely top-10 pick.

First measurements we’ve seen for Wagler. Good size for a PG, but is functionally a little smaller given the wingspan, frame, and reach. pic.twitter.com/JodenJUY9L

What does it mean?
At 6-foot-5, Wagler fits the mold NBA teams covet in modern lead guards who can see over defenses and comfortably operate in pick-and-roll situations. The measurements also confirm the one concern scouts have consistently noted. His wingspan and standing reach are modest compared to some lottery guards, and his frame reinforces that he won’t win with overwhelming physicality or elite explosiveness.
But that’s never been his game.
Wagler became an Illinois star because of his processing, pace, shot-making, and elite feel as a creator. He wins with craft, not raw athleticism.
Consensus draft projections still place him in the 5-to-10 range, and for good reason.
Keaton Wagler was overlooked once.
It looks like he won’t be this time around.
