Illini wing Andrej Stojakovic enters 2026 NBA Draft

Per ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, Illini wing Andrej Stojakovic has declared for the 2026 NBA draft while leaving the option open to return to the Fighting Illini. Stojakovic previously announced his plans to return to Illinois on April 17th. Currently, Andrej Stojakovic is not a projected NBA draft pick; however, it does make sense for the senior wing to go through the process and receive feedback on what he needs to work on. Stojakovic averaged 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds during the 2025-2026 season. He has the size and athleticism to play in the NBA; however, he needs to show more consistent production on both sides of the ball. Andrej will also need to become a far more reliable shooter, as he shot 24.4 percent from the 3pt line.

Neither The Athletic nor CBS sports do not have Andrej Stojakovic listed in their respective 2026 NBA mock drafts.

What’s next?

Illini fans should not panic for now. Andrej Stojakovic has already made an announcement that he plans to return to Illinois. Former Illini Terrence Shannon Jr. and Coleman Hawkins both went through a similar process after the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season. In fact, it will certainly be beneficial for Andrej to go through the draft process and receive direct feedback on aspects of his game. Also, staying in college for another year is definitely a more lucrative option for Stojakovic. There are a few dates to keep in mind moving forward.

The NBA G-League Combine takes place from May 8th to May 10. The NBA draft combine takes place from May 10th to May 17th. Standouts from the G-League combine can be invited to the The early entry withdrawal for the draft is on Wednesday, May 27th.
