Illinois basketball benefitting from strong play by Kylan Boswell
The Fighting Illini guard has come into his own.

Illinois basketball seems to have gotten back on track with two dominant wins. After a three game losing streak and the program’s worst deficit in history, Brad Underwood and the Illini made subtle adjustments that seem to have injected life into their squad. In terms of personnel, the Illini have really benefitted from the strong play of Kylan Boswell. Underwood named Boswell as someone he would like to step up as a leader after the embarrassing loss to the Duke Blue Devils.
Since that game, the Junior guard has brought his A-game on both sides of the floor.
Stuffing the stat sheet
In the last two games, Kylan Boswell has averaged 16 points per game, 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists. He has made a concerted effort to get to the glass and to the rim, which has resulted in a solid 52 percent field goal percentage. The junior guard still struggles with his outside shot, however, he has made timely shots and plays. Boswell also has done a tremendous job guarding some difficult matchups. He did an admirable job on Duke superstar, Cooper Flagg, while also guarding 7-foot forward Danny Wolf vs Michigan.
Boswell has turned into a Swiss army knife for this Illinois basketball team. If Boswell can consistently knock down some of his three-point attempts, the Illini will go very far in March.
