Illinois basketball news: 2026 Target Adam Oumiddoch Announces Decision Date

News: Illinois basketball target Adam Oumiddoch will make his college decision on Wednesday, November 12.

Illinois is one of five schools still in contention, along with Oregon, St. John’s, Villanova, and LSU. The Illini were among the first programs to offer Oumiddoch, extending a scholarship back on November 15, 2022.

“Coach Orlando (Antigua) has been recruiting me since he was at Kentucky. I remember that first June 15 when they were able to call us, he called me and was like, ‘Whatever school I’m at, just know you have the offer from me and that you are my guy since day one.’ I remember he saw me in 9th grade at the US Open, and he’s been calling me ever since and FaceTiming me all the time and has been great to my mom and my dad,” said Oumiddoch in September, according to Eric Bossi of 247 Sports.

Assistant coach Orlando Antigua has led Illinois’ pursuit of the top 35 prospect (ESPN) out of Atlanta. Oumiddoch visited Champaign on October 17 before heading to St. John’s the following weekend.

Oumiddoch is a dynamic scorer with ideal size for the shooting guard position, standing at 6 ‘5″. The Atlanta native plays for the Cold Hearts in the Overtime Elite League, where he’s averaging 31 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

If he commits to the Illini, Oumiddoch would join an already loaded 2026 recruiting class. Brad Underwood and his staff currently hold the No. 18-ranked recruiting class on 247 Sports, featuring Lucas Morillo, Ethan Brown, and Landon Davis.
