Illinois Basketball Orange Krush tickets Sell Out in Record Time for 2026-27 Season

The hype surrounding Illinois basketball is real, and it’s already showing up at the box office.

The Orange Krush student season tickets for the 2026-27 Fighting Illini season sold out in record time Tuesday, with all 3,000 available tickets claimed within the first minute. Illinois Athletics said the full processing of the sales took just nine minutes, setting a new program record. That marks the sixth consecutive season that Illinois student basketball tickets have sold out. The pace has continued to accelerate, going from less than three hours in 2021-22 to 36 minutes in 2022-23, less than 24 hours in 2023-24, 26 minutes in 2024-25, and 18 minutes last season.

Now, the record sits at nine minutes.

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering what the Illini have coming back.

Illinois is coming off its first Final Four appearance since 2005, finishing the 2025-26 season 28-9 and as the Big Ten Tournament runner-up. Brad Underwood returns five key rotation players from that team, including David Mirkovic, Andrej Stojakovic, Tomislav Ivisic, Zvonimir Ivisic and Jake Davis. The Illini also added a top-15 recruiting class and an impact transfer. 

With Illinois appearing inside the top five of multiple preseason national rankings, expectations are as high as they’ve been in years. And apparently, students aren’t waiting until November to show how excited they are.

The Orange Krush is already ready for another season at State Farm Center.
