Is Kylan Boswell the Most Underrated Player in College Basketball?
The folks over at The Field of 68 are VERY high on Illini PG Kylan Boswell

Illini point guard Kylan Boswell has quietly molded into one of the most productive and complete guards in the nation. The Champaign native enters Tuesday night’s conference opener at Ohio State averaging a team-leading 17 points per game, setting the tone for an Illini offense that has steadily grown more confident and dynamic around him, alongside his own surge.
What’s seemingly stood out most through the first month of the season is Boswell’s shift in mentality. No longer the complementary piece he was earlier in his career, Kylan has seemingly fully embraced a role as an aggressor for a team with lofty, yet legitimate aspirations. Whether it’s initiating offensively, attacking mismatches, or providing hard-nosed defense against opponents’ top scoring options, Boswell has taken ownership of this very talented Illinois team in ways that extend well beyond his own stat line.
On Sunday evening’s episode of “The Field of 68: After Dark,” host and co-founder Rob Dauster gave his thoughts on the Illini’s senior leader, further breaking down why he believes Kylan, in his opinion, “may be the most underrated player in College Basketball.”
More from Dauster and the Field of 68 crew, on this 13th-ranked Fighting Illini team, and their senior point guard.

Why Illini PG Kylan Boswell “May be the Most Underrated Player in College Basketball.”
Rob Dauster (@RobDauster): “I think Ky (Kylan) Boswell might be the most underrated player in college basketball. I freaking love watching that dude play…. What he does defensively, the leadership, the way he can take over in the moments that he needs to take over.”
He continues, “And when you combine that with Keaton Wagler being able to be an initiator, and create on his own, and take some of the pressure off Ky Boswell. So, you can have Keaton Wagler doing something on one side of the floor, they swing it to the other and Boswell’s able to attack a closeout, and it just makes life a lot easier for him to have that other playmaker out there.
Dauster closed, “When Wagler and Boswell are playing like that, and you have both of the Ivisic’s healthy, this is a really, really good Illinois team, and they’re really fun to watch, man. I really like this group.”
