Will Riley drops career high in NBA G-league game vs Greensboro Swarm
At just 19 years of age, RIley is showing that he has the capabilities of an elite NBA scorer.
Will Riley was born to score and get buckets. At just 19-years old, the former Illini is dominating the NBA G-league. Despite not getting minutes in the NBA, Riley is showing that he has an NBA future. In his latest game in the NBA G League, Riley scored 36 points while making 14 of his 24 shots. He also contributed 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Per the G-League social media account, Will Riley is averaging 26.0 points per game in the three games that he has played with the Capital City Go-Go. The Former Illini will likely spend the majority of this season with the G-League affiliate.
At just 19 years old, he has to gain some strength and become a more reliable catch-and-shoot option. If he can do both, he should certainly have a role on a rebuilding Washington Wizards team. While in the NBA G-league, Riley has also shown his playmaking ability. At 6 feet 9 inches, that type of playmaking ability is rather unique. Riley is comfortable handling point guard duties; however, he should continue to hone these skills so that they can translate to NBA teams.
Riley is making the Illini nation proud. He came in as the highest-ranked prep prospect to ever grace the Orange and Blue. Now, he is showing that he will have a long professional basketball career.
