Bret Bielema Updates Illinois Football Injury Report Entering The Summer
The Illinois Football staff met with the media on Monday (6/17) while attending the Illini Quarterback Club golf outing in Urbana. Of course, it is a great opportunity for Bret Bielema to detail some of the exciting news surrounding his football program.
Certainly, including the official addition of Ole Miss WR Zakhari Franklin. According to Bret, the nation’s active leader in receiving made his way into town over the weekend, and has joined the team accordingly. Franklin’s signing was a monstrous addition to the Illinois roster, as Franklin feels like the cherry on top of an already impressively constructed offense.
In addition, Bielema also took the time to discuss the health status of the team. As the Illini quickly advance toward summer and fall camp, injuries from here onward become a much greater problem. However, Bielema enthusiastically states that the Illini are healthy as a whole and ready to get to work for the 2024 season.
Injury Update From Bielema
“Nothing significant from an injury standpoint,” stated Bielema. “Literally all of the guys that we had are full go. We have had a couple of guys with some soft tissue (injuries) but with weather like this, in the workouts our guys have been doing, we just had a couple of guys. But, nothing that would limit, prevent, or prohibit anybody from fall camp as we speak ” says the Illini coach.
