Big-Time Central Illinois Recruit Visiting Illinois Football in June
Illinois football is looking to host a top-20 recruit in the state from central Illinois. Mt. Zion (Ill) wide receiver Brayden Trimble has set an official visit to Champaign. The visit will begin on June 21st, and the staff will be hosting Trimble for the weekend. The 2025 receiver has become quite a hot commodity in the receiver market. Trimble has 11 offers thus far, including Illinois, Kent State, Ole Miss, Iowa, Iowa State, Miami (OH) Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Northwestern. According to 247 Sports, Brayden is the 19th-ranked player overall in the state of Illinois and the nation’s 119th-best wide receiver. The Illini staff offered Brayden on October 21st, and have since then prioritized him.

Reaction
Currently, Brayden Trimble holds not only an offer from Illinois Football but a crystal ball pick as well. He would make a fantastic recruiting win for Bret Bielema. A highly ranked in-state player, who holds multiple Big Ten offers including Iowa and Michigan State. Illinois will lose Pat Bryant to the NFL after the 2024 season, after having already lost Isaiah Williams and Casey Washington to the league in 2023. There are major roles to fill, and Illinois needs to get to work on depth in the receiver room, beyond 2024.
Trimble is another central Illinois kid Bret Bielema will have the chance to keep home. June 21st weekend will be a great weekend for the Illini to close the young man who grew up in Illini country.
