Caitlin Clark Drops Triple-Double Vs Illinois Basketball

Caitlin Clark is something else to watch. As much as it pains me to root for anything Iowa, Clark is a walking bucket that is so much fun to watch. She is so skilled and good at what she does and plays with a swagger that makes her an absolute must-watch. The senior guard is currently averaging 32.4 points per game, 7 rebounds and 8.5 assists on 39% 3point shootingOn Sunday morning, the Illinois women’s basketball team traveled to Carver-Hawkeye Arena to take on Clark and the Hawkeyes. Unfortunately for Shauna Green’s group, they were the victim of Clark’s incredible play.

A Tough Second Year for Illinois

After an impressive first year at Illinois, Shauna Green’s squad has struggled to build on that. Last year, the Illini pulled off an impressive upset against Iowa. However, the ladies struggled this year and let Clark and her team go off for a number of three-point shots. Senior guard, Makira Cook, put up a nice 26 points and Genesis Bryant put up a nice 19 points. Despite this, Illinois as a whole seems to struggle defensively. Shauna Green and her crew will probably not make the NCAA tournament barring a run in the Big Ten Tournament.

They will travel to Michigan State and host Nebraska to close off their season. If they can pick off one of these games, they should have built some momentum heading into postseason play.
