Former Illini Will Riley continues red-hot start to February
Riley is averaging over 20 points in the month of February.
Will Riley is finally getting his moment in the NBA. With every passing game, Riley is setting new career-highs in scoring outputs. On Saturday afternoon vs the Brooklyn Nets, Will Riley played 45 minutes and scored 27 points on 10 of 19 from the field. Riley knocked down four three-point shots and added three steals and a block to his impressive scoreline. Through four games in February, Riley is averaging 20.5 points per game on over 50 percent field goal percentage. Additionally, he has had games where he has recorded five or six assists, showing his impressive playmaking ability, along with his size.
In fact, Riley has led the Washington Wizards in scoring in each of the last four games. This is a really impressive stretch for the former Illini basketball star as he turns 20 years old in just a few days. The Wizards are continuing their rebuild and seem to be keen on letting their young talent develop. If Riley continues this type of play, there is no doubt that he will emerge as a franchise cornerstone.
