How to watch the Citrus Bowl: Illini vs South Carolina
At long last, the Citrus bowl featuring Illinois and South Carolina has arrived
Time: 2 pm CST / 3pm EST
TV Channel: ABC
Where? Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida
Spread: South Carolina -9.5
Illinois Fighting Illini (9-3) (6-3)
The Illini have had an incredible season. After starting 7-1 during the 2022 season, Illinois struggled to finish out their season which left a sour taste for many fans. This year was much different, as outside of a home loss vs Minnesota, the Illini stepped up to each challenge. Their wins vs Kansas, Michigan, and Nebraska were some memorable statement wins for Bret Bielema and his crew. Now, the Illini have a chance to make some history. Winning 10 games with a win over an SEC program would be a major feather in Bret Bielema’s cap as he goes out to recruit.
Bret Bielema has Illinois back in a positive light, but make no mistake, there’s more left on the field.
South Carolina Gamecocks (9-3) (5-3)
The South Carolina Gamecocks have won their last six games. In fact, they even beat Clemson, a team that just lost in the College Football Playoff. The Gamecocks will look to end their season off on a high note, however, they will miss some key starters. Running back Raheim Sanders and EDGE rusher Kyle Kennard both opted out of the bowl game for South Carolina. However, freshman QB LaNorris Sellers may be as good a quarterback that the Illini have faced.
Look for Sellers to attack the Illini defense with his legs. The dynamic quarterback has 155 rushes for 655 yards and 7 touchdowns.
