Illinicast Ep 80: Recap of 2023-2024 Illinois Basketball Season

The Illinois Basketball program had a memorable 2023-2024 season. Despite a difficult ending, the Illini won the Big Ten Tournament and made the Elite Eight. That is a successful season for this program and it should be remembered as such. On the flip, Illinois Basketball will start mostly anew this year. They lose 4 out of the 5 players in their starting lineup and also lose their two first players off the bench.

The Illinicast crew recapped the memorable season and gave their letter grades for each key member of the roster. As well as an overall score on the performance of Brad Underwood in 2023-34. Sunny and Austin also give their thoughts on players who they believe could be possible returners for the 2024-25 season. Some may come as a surprise, but nothing ever seems to be too shocking in today’s age of college athletics. The transfer portal will be a major band-aid for the wound of attrition. The portal season is off to a hot start, and the Illinicast crew breaks down possible interests by the Illini. As well as thoughts on the loss of forward Dain Dainja to the portal.
