Illinois basketball offers intriguing combo guard from St. Louis
The St. Louis combo guard has earned a slew of offers, including the Illini.

Quentin Coleman announced on Tuesday, July 23, on his X account (@QuentinC_1) that he has received a scholarship offer from Illinois basketball.
He wrote, “Blessed to receive an offer from Illinois! #AGTG”
Coleman is a 6-foot-3 guard in the Class of 2026 from St. Louis, Missouri. He attends The Principia School and is rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports.
The St. Louis native has seen his recruitment pick up momentum following a strong showing at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, where he played a key role in helping Brad Beal Elite win the championship. Coleman was one of the breakout performers of the event, significantly raising his stock.

Illinois basketball head coach Brad Underwood was in attendance for both the semifinals and the championship game.
In July alone, Coleman has earned offers from Virginia, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Iowa, Illinois, Texas Tech, Kansas State, and Wake Forest. He has only taken one visit so far to Saint Louis University, but he plans to visit more schools this fall.
Throughout the Peach Jam, Coleman was consistently impressive. He ranked in the top 10 in assist-to-turnover ratio, performance index rating, efficiency, and plus/minus. He averaged 14.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 38.7% from three-point range.
At 170 pounds, Coleman will need to add strength at the next level, but his offensive skill set is already college-ready.
While the Illinois backcourt situation for 2026-27 remains uncertain with Brandon Lee and Keaton Wagler entering their sophomore seasons and potential transfers always in the mix, Coleman will have a real opportunity to earn meaningful minutes early if he commits to the Illini.
