Illinois Basketball Opponent Loses Leading Scorer

Illinois basketball will head to Happy Valley to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Illini are hoping to notch another road win so that they can clinch another Big Ten Conference record over .500. The Penn State Nittany Lions are a scrappy bunch. First-year coach, Mike Rhoades, has made the most of a limited roster that lost a lot to the professional ranks. Regardless, the Nittany Lions are currently 12th in the Big Ten conference, however, still qualifies as a Quad-two game for Illinois.

In addition, it was recently announced that Penn State will be missing their leading scorer for their matchup with Illinois.

What does that mean?

Kanye Clary will no longer play for the Penn State Nittany Lions for the remainder of the season. Clary averages around 17 points per game on an efficient 46 percent field goal percentage. That seems like a good break for Illinois Basketball as Penn State is not a very deep team. In addition, Illinois will head back home to host Iowa and Minnesota. These three games are a good warmup for the key stretch to end the season.

To end the season, Illinois will play three quad-one games. Two of which will be on the road in Wisconsin and Iowa.
