Illinois Basketball Sells out 2024 Public Season Tickets in August

Illinois Basketball is in a special place.

There are college basketball fans and then there are Illinois basketball fans. Often described as one of the most passionate fan bases in the country, the Illini Nation never ceases to impress. Particularly, when it comes to the team that plays south of Kirby St. In a social media announcement, it was told that Illinois basketball has sold out its public regular season tickets. As a reminder, today is August 30th. September has not even arrived and the season is still over two months away. Despite this, regular season tickets are sold out.

National media has certainly noticed this as well. CBS college hoops insider, Jon Rothstein, described the Illini fanbase as “One of college basketball’s best and most passionate fan bases.”

Success feeds passion

The Illini fanbase has always been passionate about their basketball team. Even during the latter years of the Bruce Weber and the entire John Groce era, fans yearned for sustained success in the upper echelon of college basketball. After a few years of adjustment, Brad Underwood has successfully brought that flame back. After a trip to the Elite Eight and two Big Ten tournament championships in four years, Underwood has this program humming again.

In the 2024 to 2025 season, Illinois basketball has as many pro prospects as it has ever had. As it shows, fans are totally ready now.
