Illinois Basketball Target Will Riley Announces Top 5
Illinois Basketball target, Will Riley, has announced a top-5 after a quick string of official visits
Illinois Basketball target Will Riley announced a top-5 of schools including the Fighting Illini. Riley, a 5-star prospect in the class of 2025, is also considering Alabama, Kentucky, Arizona, and the New Zealand Breakers in the NBL. The talented Canadian wing was just on campus last week and subsequently visited Kentucky and Alabama. Though he is currently in the class of 2025, most assume that Will Riley will reclassify to the class of 2024. As a result, a decision should be made by the end of the month so that Will Riley can quickly join the team that he chooses.
Per multiple sources, Illinois basketball and Kentucky seem to be the most confident to land the talented five-star prospect.
Impact on Illinois Basketball
After Illinois Basketball signed Kasparas Jakucionis from FC Barcelona, most assumed that Brad Underwood had completed his offseason. In fact, Underwood hinted that sometimes you can have too much on a roster. However, Will Riley is a five-star prospect who is on many 2025 NBA draft boards. That kind of player can change the trajectory of your program for years to come and the Illini are in prime position to win. When assistant coach, Orlando Antigua, returned to Champaign, many wondered how well he would do given that he can sell tangible results and success.
If Riley picks the Illini, it is certain that Orlando Antigua will ink his name in Fighting Illini Basketball history.
