Illinois Basketball To Host Multiple Transfer Portal Priorities

Illinois Basketball continues their transfer portal push. After landing Tre White, a high-upside prospect from Louisville, Illinois has not let up on their push for some priority targets. Per multiple reports, including Jamie Shaw of On3, Dante Maddox Jr will visit the University of Illinois. In addition, per Dushawn London of 247sports, Notre Dame transfer, Carey Booth, will visit as well.

Per some rumblings, Kylan Boswell may also be on campus to round out a massive weekend with multiple transfer portal priorities.

Dante Maddox Jr.

Dante Maddox Jr. recently named a top five of Illinois, Michigan, Louisville, Xavier, and Creighton. Despite landing Jake Davis and Tre White, Illinois is heavily pursuing the sharp-shooting combo guard. Maddox Jr and Tre White would be a powerful duo to help replace the scoring void left by Terrence Shannon Jr and Marcus Domask. Illinois will do its best to close this recruitment down before Maddox Jr visits other high-major programs.

Carey Booth

Carey Booth will also visit Illinois this weekend. Booth is a high-upside big man who still has three years of eligibility left. Booth fits that Coleman Hawkins mold. He is mobile and athletic enough to play on the perimeter, however, long enough to hold his own in the interior. Carey would be a great fit alongside the bruising young tandem of Morez Johnson Jr and Amani Hansberry.
