Michigan Basketball Coach Says “You’re Welcome” about Illinois Basketball Star
Michigan Basketball is an interesting program. In the John Beilein era, Michigan always seemed to have the Illinois Basketball number. Time after time, Beilein would find a way to beat Illinois at the most important times. John Groce never cracked the case, and unfortunately, this led to his downfall as the head man at Illinois. When Brad Underwood was hired, many discussed that it would be great if Illinois Basketball found their “John Beilein”.
So far, it seems to be the case. As Juwan Howard has taken over, Brad Underwood has dominated the series. Underwood is 8-0 against the Michigan headman and the programs seem to have swapped places.
Interesting post-game words
Terrence Shannon Jr has been a star for Illinois Basketball. Shannon Jr has elevated his game to lottery pick status during his time in Champaign. Despite this, Shannon Jr was heavily leaning towards the Michigan Wolverines. There was a whole issue during the recruitment in which Hunter Dickinson publically tweeted out attacks at Texas Tech head man, Mark Adams. Shannon Jr was supposedly committed to Michigan, however, the Michigan admissions process stopped that from happening.
Aaaaand someone got to Dickinson REAL quick. What we have here is one of the biggest stars in CBB calling out the HC at TTU for allegedly hindering Terrence Shannon Jr. from being able to easily transfer to Michigan. Instead, Shannon just committed to U-M's rival, Illinois. pic.twitter.com/LmQh0SNebn

Juwan Howard has always been strange in post-game pressers. He always seems to have an ignorant bliss about him, despite the noise and mess around him. That trend continued as Juwan Howard seemed to publically discuss the Shannon recruitment. He coyly responded “You’re welcome” multiple times when asked about how Shannon Jr has become such a problem for the Big Ten.
Strange behavior. This may be the last time Juwan Howard ever travels to Champaign, and boy was that a note to go out on.
