Trilly Donovan Drops Hint About Illinois Basketball Target

Illinois Basketball will be receiving some news soon. Recently, Tipton Edits announced that Illinois Basketball priority, Jeremiah Fears, will be announcing his decision on Monday January 22nd. Fears is one of the top guards in the class of 2025 and would be absolutely massive get for Brad Underwood. Illinois Basketball is in Jeremiah’s top 4 along with Michigan, Providence, and Kansas.  The Illini seem to be in the driver’s seat heading into the closing hours of this recruitment, however, we do know that recruiting can be fluid.

Our dear friend, Trilly Donovan of Burner Ball, dropped a massive hint on Twitter in regards to the likely destination for Jeremiah Fears. Additionally, our sources have lined up with that prediction as well. Illinois Basketball should be receiving some good news on Monday.

Potential Impact

Jeremiah Fears would have an immediate impact on an Illinois squad that needs perimeter help. As one of the best guards in the class, he has the ability to play immediately. Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn and Sencire Harris project as the only upperclassmen that will be in the perimeter at this moment. With Morez Johnson Jr and Amani Hansberry actively holding the frontcourt down, Illinois will try to add the most talented perimeter prospects to complement that scary frontcourt. Per 247 composite rankings, Fears currently is the 31st-ranked prospect in the class of 2025 and the 6th-ranked combo guard.

The Joliet, Illinois native is currently playing with Compass Prep in Arizona and trying to make an impact heading into a key summer in the EYBL. On top of that, his older brother, Jeremy, is currently playing at Michigan State. Despite this, The elder Fears has been sidelined after being involved in a tragic shooting. As a result, Jeremy is currently rehabbing and appears to be sidelined from basketball for the foreseeable future.
