Illinois Basketball Lands Its Final Piece From FC Barcelona
Illinois Basketball has landed their wing! After a long offseason of transfer portal additions, the Illini seem to have added its final piece. Kasparas Jakucionis, a 6 foot 5 wing who currently plays for FC Barcelona, has announced his commitment to the Illini. After losing Terrence Shannon Jr and Marcus Domask to the professional ranks, Brad Underwood needed to replace a lot of perimeter scoring. Though they have made impressive additions through the likes of Tre White and Ben Humrichous, the Illini have yearned for one more playmaker on the perimeter. AJ Storr was a name that appeared early, however, the talented guard took his talents to Kansas.
Jakucionis is one of the most talented young players and has been tearing it up in the Adidas NGT finals.

His Game?
Jakucionis is another young player who will join the Fighting Illini. He is a crafty and shifty ball-handler with strong passing ability. In his games, he consistently has a high amount of assists. This will serve Illinois basketball well as they hope to play Kylan Boswell as their primary point guard and as an off-ball shooter. Kasparas has a strong ability in pick-and-roll situations and uses his angles extremely well. His game is highly reminiscent of former Illinois Basketball guard, Brandin Podziemski.
Podziemski wasn’t a super athlete, however, he used angles extremely well and was a crafty playmaker. Though Jakucionis is not as strong a shooter as Podziemski, he can have the same offensive impact and positional size that Brandin brought to Santa Clara.
