Bret Bielema Hints at News Addition to Illinois Football
Bret Bielema told media during his Thursday presser conference, his plan to complete the Illinois Football roster for 2024.
Bret Bielema’s Plan to Complete the Illinois Football Roster
Illinois Football players reported to their first summer meeting on Memorial Day evening. The team was introduced to the Illini staff’s summer plan, outlining the best way to attack this crucial part of the offseason. Additionally, Bret Bielema and his staff have begun to focus on the players they have on campus. Of course, finalizing any open roster availability, at this point, is a priority before summer camp begins.
Coach Bielema held a press conference on Thursday (6/6) to address the media on summer 2024’s outlook. Additionally, the Illini head coach provided some important insight as to when he would like to see his roster finalized. Of course, it is a deadline of importance, as fans keep their eyes peeled for the next transfer portal pickup.
Bielema’s Comment on Roster Finalization
The Illinois Football head coach states “In the month of June, in years past, we have been more on the road. Going to satellite camps, and different events that expose us players across the country. I just think the world has changed the way players are being recruited and the scholarship allocation.” says Bret. “We had 12 players leave in the second semester, which opened up 12 opportunities for not only our current guys that we are counting on being here already but also add in about 6 or 7 more roster spots. We have a couple more out there that we’ll add, but we should be completed, and everyone in place for early July.
It seems Bret may be hinting at adding a few more transfer portal additions before the end of June.
