Former Illini Doug Kramer tagged as biggest trash talker on Chicago Bears
Tight end for the Chicago Bears Cole Kmet stated that the best trash talker on the team is former Illini Doug Kramer. Kmet went on “The Stretch” Podcast and was asked who the biggest trash talker on the Chicago Bears was. Kramer played center for Illinois Football from 2017-2021. The Hinsdale native was a stalwart on the offensive line and ended up being drafted in the sixth round by the Chicago Bears. His NFL career unfortunately started off with a rather significant foot injury. Despite this, the scrappy offensive lineman has found a way onto the Chicago Bears roster. He has also found a way onto the field by using his exceptional blocking and versatility at fullback.
Dating back to his time as a high school prospect, Doug Kramer has always been tabbed as undersized and not having enough quickness. However, Kramer earned the nickname “scrappy” due to his work ethic and motor. That certainly seems to have bled into his NFL career.

Former Illini on winning teams?
All of the former Illini in the NFL are at least on winning teams. Doug Kramer is on the 4-2 Chicago Bears in one of the tightest divisions in the league. Other players such as Kerby Joseph, Alex Palczewski, Quan Martin, Nick Allegretti, and more are all on winning teams right now. That is great to see for all former Illinois football players. Hopefully, Kramer can continue to contribute to his hometown team.
