Former Illinois Basketball guard signs with top European club

Former Illinois basketball guard, Andres Feliz, has signed a three-year contract with Real Madrid. Feliz has been an integral part of a variety of Euroleague clubs overseas and has progressively improved each season. Most recently, the strong-bodied combo guard played for FC Joventut and had a breakout season. During the 2023-2024 season, Feliz averaged 15.0 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists. The points and assists averages were the best on the team, while his rebounding averages ranked second on FC Joventut. Additionally, Andres will be playing with the Puerto Rican national team in the 2024 Olympics.

He was certainly an integral part of the early stages of the Brad Underwood rebuild. He complimented Ayo Dosunmu, Kofi Cockburn, and Trent Frazier extremely well on the perimeter and became one of the best downhill guards. During the 2019-2020 season, Feliz averaged 11.0 points per game and 5.0 rebounds.
Representing the Olympic team
Andres Feliz has certainly found his home in European basketball. Though he can certainly try his hand at an NBA roster, Feliz has found his groove and is contributing to some of the top teams. Last year, Feliz heavily contributed to the Puerto Rican national team during the FIBA World Championships. In fact, Andres had a game where he put up 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. When Andres Feliz returns to Champaign for a game, the Illinois basketball fan favorite will be celebrated.
