Four-star guard Lucas Morillo set to take official visit to Illinois
Can the Illini add yet another impressive shooting guard prospect to their class of 2026
Per Sam Kayser of League Ready, guard Lucas Morillo will take an official visit to Illinois during the weekend of September 26.
Morillo is a four-star prospect out of the Newman School in Boston. Per 247sports, he is a top 60 prospect in the class of 2026. According to League Ready, he will be taking further official visits to UCLA and Texas. Currently, the Illini have two commitments in their class of 2026. Combo guard, Ethan Brown, who possesses a great deal of offensive versatility, and stretch forward, Landon Davis. With Kylan Boswell set to graduate, the Illini are certainly looking to bulk up their perimeter options. Morillo fits the bill of a long, versatile guard that can play multiple positions. He would also mark the highest-rated prospect in the class, should he decide on Illinois.
Lucas Morillo also has international experience too as he played for the Dominican Republic FIBA team. Through seven games, he averaged 20.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.
