Future Illinois Basketball Guard Continues Dominant AAU Season
Illinois commit Jeremiah Fears has been on an absolute tear on the Nike EYBL circuit with the 17U Indy Heat. On Saturday, the Joliet (Ill) native continued his dominance, posting up 18 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds over the course of the matchup. According to Charlie Parent (@charlie_parent), contributor for Zagsblog.com, Jeremiah additionally went off in front of the Illini staff. Of course, Brad Underwood and his assistants are extremely excited about the future of Illinois Basketball with Fears at the helm. He has added a level of aggressiveness to his game that is exciting to watch unfold in the young man’s development. Illini nation anxiously awaits getting the Arizona Compass Prep guard to Champaign.
Certainly, recently re-hired assistant coach Orlando Antigua has been hard after the recruiting trail already for Illinois. After assisting Underwood in tapping back into the international market with Croatian 7-footer Tomislav Ivisic, you can now see him pictured courtside at the Nike EYBL tournament. Of course, checking out his future combo guard.

Fears As a National Prospect
Per the film, Jeremiah seems to be filling out his lengthy frame. He looks far more confident attacking the hoop aggressively. Jeremiah has successfully added that portion of his game to his silky smooth jumper. In addition, Jeremiah is now the number 15 prospect in the class of 2025’s ESPN rankings. That is quite the mark for an Illinois Basketball recruit and he should undoubtedly be in the race to be a McDonald’s All-American.
