Illinois Fighting Illini (4-1) (1-1)

Illinois football is fresh off of a bye week. They have some favorable matchups coming up, however, they cannot fall into a trap game vs Purdue. Bret Bielema seems to understand this and knows very well that anything can happen in College football. He also knows that this game means a lot to the Purdue football staff, many of whom were working at Illinois at some point. The Illini will certainly stick to their roots against the Boilermakers. Run the football well and have Luke Altmyer continue his solid play with Pat Bryant and Zakhari Franklin as security blankets.

Purdue Boilermakers (1-4) (0-2)

It is year two for former Illinois defensive coordinator Ryan Walters. Unfortunately, things are not going so well down in West Lafayette. Through 17 games as the head coach, Walters has only won five games. The Boilermakers have dropped their last four in rather embarrassing fashion (66-7 loss vs Notre Dame). This game seems like a final chance for Walters to save his name as the Boilermakers head coach. If Walters and the Boilers cannot win this game, expect that seat to turn red hot.
