5-Star guard Jasper Johnson recently cut the Illini from his top 5. Furthermore, Brad Underwood will have to move on to plan B for their top guard option for the class of 2025. Certainly, not the worst-case scenario, as the staff has now moved on to other highly ranked targets.

In addition, host Sunny Verma discussed his trip to Big Ten media day in Indianapolis. We are all super proud of Sunny and the hard work he has put in to be able to make the trip. The Illinicast duo then dove into some concluded takeaways drawn from the buzz surrounding Bret Bielema’s 2024 team, post Big Ten Media Days. Of course, kickoff is just around the corner, as the Illini are set to square off against Eastern Illinois on Thursday, August 29th.
