Illinois Basketball: Body By Adam Fletcher
Illinois Basketball strength and conditioning program has certainly become elite thanks to coach Adam Fletcher
The Illinois Basketball Strength Staff is Elite
The Illinois Basketball strength and conditioning program has become elite during the Brad Underwood era, thanks to strength coach Adam Fletcher. A flurry of “before and after” photos posted on social media by Ayo Dosunmu, Kofi Cockburn, Terrence Shannon Jr, and many others have grabbed the attention of Illini fans. Within a relatively short period of working with Coach Fletcher, many Illini have seen major physical transformations.
Recently, Illini guard Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn made a post on Wednesday with some before and after photos of his recent summer progress Astonishingly, Gibbs-Lawhorn also saw big changes to his physical condition. As you can see from his post below, “Fletch” does not play around in the weight room. I’ll let you be the judge.

Adam Fletcher
Coach “Fletch”, as he is referred to within the program, joined the Illinois Basketball staff in 2015. Of course, beginning his journey at Illinois, while they were struggling as a program. Just a short year 2 seasons after his hire, Illini head coach John Groce was let go from his duties within the program. However, Adam was retained by coach Underwood, as Brad strongly believes in his abilities as a strength coach and leader.
“Adam is one of the top up-and-coming strength coaches in the country,” stated Illini head coach Brad Underwood. “The areas of strength and conditioning play a major role in our program. WIthout a doubt, Coach ‘Fletch’ has done an outstanding job to date with the players here and I’m excited to have him continue with their development.”
