Illinois Basketball Guard Featured on Sleeper’s All Big Ten Team

Illinois Basketball guard, Kasparas Jakucionis, was featured on a recent All Big-Ten first team prediction done by Carter Elliott and Greg Elliott of the Sleeper’s Media podcast. Jakucionis was the only unanimous selection besides rising Junior guard, Braden Smith, of Purdue. Waddell’s team featured Smith, Jakucionis, Oregon’s Jackson Shelstead, Washington’s Great Osobor, and Indiana’s Oumar Ballo. Elliiott’s team consisted of Michigan State’s Frankie Fidler, and Mackenzie Mgbako and Malik Reneau of Indiana.

The most impressive part is that Jakucionis was a unanimous selection along with Braden Smith. Smith is in his third year of Big Ten basketball and should be one of the best point guards in the country. Illinois Basketball will certainly have a talented bunch and that starts with Jakucionis.

The Role?

Illinois Basketball will likely feature Kasparas Jakucionis as a primary ball-handler. Per his film, he is an excellent passer and has outstanding feel for the game. He should be able to split lead guard duties with Kylan Boswell. Brad Underwood will need to figure out how to spread the ball out amongst so many talented pieces. However, look for an equal spread of contributions from all Illinois basketball players.
