Illinois basketball is starting to gel really well. After an impressive win over Arkansas, Brad Underwood stated that he felt that this was the team he envisioned over the summer. They have shooting and versatility at each position and are incredibly hard to guard. Defensively, they have great on-ball pressure with Kylan Boswell and have positional size to match up with just about anyone.

However, the real work begins now. After using the month of November to gel, the Illini will now face a daunting December schedule.

Three Quad One opportunities

To start, Illinois basketball will start their conference schedule on the road at Northwestern on December 6th. That will certainly be a strong test for the Illini as they face their first true road environment against their in-state rival. After that, Illinois will come back home for two extremely tough games. Wisconsin is the surprise team of the conference thus far and have some tough, veteran college basketball players in their backcourt. The Badgers will come to Champaign on December 10th.

After that, Tennessee who is currently the second-ranked team in Kenpom, arrives to Champaign. The Illini will have their third Quad-one game at the end of the month on the road for Oregon.

Rest assured, Illini fans. When 2025 comes, we will have a clear idea of who this Illinois basketball team is.
