Illinois Basketball: Kasparas Jakucionis Had a Big Day For Lithuania U18

Soon-to-be Illinois Basketball Freshman Kasparas Jakucionis had himself a heck of a game for the Lithuanian U18 team. According to Arman Jovic of PDT Scouting, the future Illini was able to drop 22 points versus the Spain U18 international squad. Certainly, Kasparas displayed his high-level scoring abilities, knocking down several 3-point shots from the wing. In addition, Jakucionis fought for some tough finishes at the rim as well, to add to the already impressive performance.

However, what may be even more impressive about the incoming Freshman’s ability to score, is his instinct for ball distribution. As you can see from Arman Jovic’s video from yesterday’s win, Kasparas puts his team in positions to make plays. Which, from the beginning was an eye-catcher for Brad Underwood and Orlando Antigua, as they made their European stops. Of course, that is going to come in handy during the 2024 season, as Illinois Basketball has stocked up on guys who can flat-out score. With that in mind, there is an argument that Kasparus may be the most important addition to Brad Underwood’s roster for the 2024 season.
