Illinois basketball likely to receive visit from four-star guard Jasiah Jervis
Can the Illini land the talented Bronx guard?

Jamie Shaw of On3 reported Thursday that 4-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis will likely take an official visit to Illinois later this year. His recruitment is shaping up to be a Big Ten battle, as he already has visits scheduled with Rutgers and Northwestern. Jervis told Shaw:
“I have official visits set with Rutgers and Northwestern. I am talking with Illinois and Pittsburgh about dates, as well.”
Illinois basketball offered Jervis back in March and has made him a top priority for the 2026 recruiting class. He is currently ranked as the #55 overall player in the class and the #4 player in New York, according to On3.
The fit with Illinois basketball
The 4-star guard is from White Plains, New York, and attends Archbishop Stepinac High School. He plays for the NY Rens on the EYBL AAU circuit, who are one of the top teams in the league holding a 10-1 record. Jervis is leading the team in scoring, averaging 16.3 points per game.
Illinois has been aggressive in recruiting the New York native and continues to express strong interest in bringing him to campus. Jervis stated:
“I love their guard play, the freedom they get to make plays. The coaches always tell me how much they love how I play and that I’m a dog. They want to recruit me hard, and they want to get me on campus”.
The Illinois staff sees major potential in Jervis and will need to secure a visit this fall to gain an edge over Rutgers and Northwestern in this recruitment battle.
Illinois basketball has a strong track record of developing NBA-level guards, including Ayo Dosunmu, Terrence Shannon Jr., and Kasparas Jakucionis. Jervis could fill a significant backcourt role next season, as starting guard Kylan Boswell is set to graduate.
