Illinois Basketball: Marcus Domask Makes His Decision
Former Illinois Basketball guard Marcus Domask has come to a decision on his path forward. It seems that the NCAA was not in the Illini’s favor on the ruling for an extra year of eligibility for #3. He announced on Twitter (X) on Thursday that he exhausted all college eligibility, and is testing the waters of the NBA. Certainly, much deserved for the former SIU Saluki, who catapulted his career under Brad Underwood and staff.
Marcus was a home run find by this staff. An excellent leader, who had an overall very consistent year for Illinois. Domask averaged 15.9 points, 5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game for the Illini in 2023. Shooting 45.3% from the field. It will be very interesting to see where the journey forward takes Marcus. His statement and original post below, as well as his feature on “The Journey.”
Quote From Domask
“This past year was one of my most memorable years of my life and I want to thank all of you for making it so special. Thank you for being so welcoming to my family and I, making us feel at home since day one. To my teammates and coaches, thank you for bringing out the best in me and taking me with you on this incredible journey. I came here to play for championships and improve my game-proudly, I can say both were a success.”
“At this time, I have exhausted all my possible eligibility in college, and will be entering my name in, and preparing for the NBA draft.”
